Gort Town is a half hour away and hosts Coole Park, the home of Lady Gregory where the Irish Literary giants William Butler Yeats, Seán O Casey and George Bernard Shaw visited frequently. Yeats home Thoor Ballylea is close by also. 5 kms from Coole is the magnificient Kilmacduagh Monastery with its leaning Tower and 7 churches which date back to the 6th Centuary.
